Chicago

First day in the city - lovely weather. We are pro's on the 'El' and buses and have had a ride on a yellow school bus- think Magic School Bus- to the Expo.
We met a lovely young woman on her way to packet pick up and we tagged along. She was typically friendly and chatty and talked all the way. It was great. In fact on many of our journeys we have made friends with the locals. The expo was great and we found all the things we needed including gels ( Dan they let us mix our own box).
We then booked our river cruise and went out to Navy Pier for a (dodgy) famous cheeseborger.  Back to the city to visit Garmin and then home to post the parcel.
We had dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant out at Lincoln Park and then to Green Mill- a jazz bar with a fabulous band, original music and poetry with jazz, excellent. It's Al Capone's old stamping ground- can still smell the cigar smoke in them walls.
Stephen and I also went hunting 3301 Nth Broadway for Dan. Got lost so will try again. Not going to let it beat me.

  1. Sounds awesome! Did you have thin crepe-like things at the Ethiopian restaurant? It's 3011 not 3301!
