Cruising the Med

We have a taxi booked to take us to the port after breakfast. Very
lucky there is one as they went on strike at 5 am. Some private ones
still available.
Did the Acropolis yest am. It was amazing. Dan and Stef you would love
the photo ops. Britt and George you would love the sun. Tho it is so
hot that everyone walks around with sweat running down their backs.
Hotter than Singapore tho better in the shade. After a slushy under
the olive trees - and we saw pomegranates we went to the museum. It is
just for things from the Acropolis site and was really good and cool.
Then had a sandwich and back to the air con and watch a bit of Tdf.
Later we walked in the National Garden looked at Parliament and the
guards checked out Hadrians Arch and then had some tea at a sidewalk
cafe. Had to hunt around for a money machine and then came across the
Plaka area full of restaurants and tourists. really nice vibe. Then we
found the rooftop cinema so went to the movies. Acropolis on the hill
above very cool ( still hot actually)

It was great.
Won't have wifi on the boat or txt unless we are on land so will take
a while to answer any messages.
Home soon.

We found 'Rooftop Cinema' quite by chance. Watched Sunshine and Oranges an Aussie movie. Great stuff.

Pont d'Espagne

Lac de Gaube in the Vallee de Gaube very close to the Spainish border.

We drove up the gorge 40 km from Lourdes and then took a gondola and chairlift. We walked to the far end of the lake. It is famous for it's blue colour but it was fairly misty so wasn't always blue while we were there. The Pont D'Espagne at the bottom of the chairlift had a huge waterfall. Very scenic area.

Bonny Scotland

Two days in Edinburgh have flown by. It was great to catch up with
Colin he remembers 'that mad day' well. We checked out most of the
spots from the 2007 trip but the weather wasn't so dreary - no sign of
scotch mist.
The Queen has been avoiding me. She was hiding at Buckingham palace
while we were in London then left Sandringham just as we got to
Norfolk and flew to watch the Irish derby. Tracked her down yesterday.
She popped out of Holyrood palace to inspect the guard just as I
walked round the corner.
We walked over Arthur's seat to bagpipes as there was a festival in
the park below. Very Scottish. Off to Lakes District today via
Hadrians wall which I have always wanted to see.

Arthur's Seat. Good to see the family land in great shape.
