Going North

We were sad to leave Sorrento as it is a fabulous spot above the Bay
of Naples. Visited Pompeii which was really interesting and sobering.
Had a good look around Assisi yesterday and a run this morning.
Awesome Basilica and a lovely quiet town. Moving on to Firenze today -
back to the crowds.

Basicilia of St Francis of Assisi. Sorrento and Assisi were our favourite places in Italy.

Pompei

The bay on Capri. 33' and 13,000 tourists.

The scary ride to Anacapri in the minibus. Italian driving at it's finest.

My feet are starting to look like tigers! I'm obviously outside in my walking sandals alot.

Roman holiday

Very busy 2 days in Rome cos there are so many ancient things to see.
We didn't have nearly as much free time as expected as the Pope was
inconveniently still in town. As it was a Wednesday there was mass in
St Peters square so we got to see the Pope and his popemobile. It was
great. Very hot tho. Thankfully we had an umbrella. Loved St Peters,
Colosseum, Pantheon, etc etc.

Throwing pennys at Trevi Fountain. We were on our way to a fun dinner with dancing and singing. Tho it doesn't look it there were hundreds of tourists at Trevi.

Ponte Milvio. The lock is first on the left bottom rung.

Colosseum in the early morning. The crowds flocked shortly after we took the photo.

Remember this? Largo del Torre Argentina.

The Forum in Rome. 28' in the shade.
